RECAP: MAGAt REPUBLICANS RECORD BREAKING VACATION ENDS[1]
MAGAts remain in solidarity to inflict pain on America.
The greatest of great negotiators, President Donald J. Trump, orchestrated the entire 43-day record shut down while he partied, golfed, rage posted, and told MAGAt Republicans not to negotiate with Democrats.[2] The longest shutdown in our nation’s history so far, beating Trump’s previous record of 35 days,[3] when Trump beat President Obama’s 16 day shut down in 2013.
Trump cost Americans billions of dollars with his government shutdowns. Will he beat his record in January 2026 when MAGAt Republicans put it to the nation again?
In surveys conducted after previous shutdowns Americans overwhelming blamed Republicans.[4] Trump blamed Presidents for shutdowns. In 2013 during the President Obama administration shutdown Trump said, “I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States. He’s the one that has to get people together.”[5] Well, the black President Barak Hussein Obama certainly did a much better job than President Puddin’ Brains Trump.
MAGAts have the House majority. As of Nov.12th, the MAGAt House of Representatives was out of session for 54 days. That’s right. MAGAt Republicans refused to meet and work for 54 days but somehow the shutdown was the Democrats’ fault. Democrats stayed in Washington to do their job.
Trump didn’t.
REJECTED
House Democrats offered amendments to the continuing resolution in the rules committee. Their amendments would have funded the ACA aka Obamacare health insurance subsidies in order to keep health care affordable for millions of Americans. The amendment was REJECTED by MAGAt Republicans.[6]
Democrats introduced an amendment that would have prevented the provision that was added that allowed Senate MAGAt Republicans that had their data seized by the FBI to see if they participated in the January 6th insurrection to sue the government for $500,000. Their amendment was REJECTED.
In all, MAGAt Republicans REJECTED 86 amendments offered by Democrats to stop MAGAt Republicans from de-funding programs that benefit Americans.[7]
At various town hall meetings MAGAt Republicans would maintain that they didn’t know about the health care cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) that they voted for. And yet, they voted for all those cuts again. They can’t claim that they didn’t know what they voted for this time. Well, they can, because they lie like rugs, but a lot of us know better.
MAGAt Republicans did it with malice and forethought.
