People are talking about losing our democracy like it hasn’t already happened.
GETTING IT BACK WON’T BE EASY.
Are we still a democracy?
Our sexual felon predator dictator king/fuhrer President Trump just attacked Venezuela, captured their President along with his wife and said that he is taking over their country until he installs a new leader. Congress has done NOTHING to stop him. If there are any Republican cool heads left in Washington, DC, none of them appear to be able to curb Trump’s worst inclinations.
And just consider what has already taken place during the first year of Trump’s second term.
A massive cover up by Trump in real time regarding the Epstein files, to protect his fellow elite pedophiles and their supporters.
Trump’s family, along with a string of billionaire oligarchs, are already fleecing the government. His family has increased their wealth by over $3 billion dollars in one year.
Multi-million-dollar contracts are being handed out to Trump cronies.
The DOJ and FBI have been weaponized to help the guilty and suppress dissent. Due process is being denied. American citizens are being disappeared off the streets while other citizens are being falsely labeled as terrorists.
The military has capitulated and is being used against American citizens.
Trump has his very own secret police gestapo agents.
His MAGA Supremes back him the majority of the time.
Government employees are being fired for disloyalty.
Legacy media controlled and owned by billionaires have become mouthpieces for the regime.
Red states are corrupting election safeguards and rigging the next election to favor them (if there is a next election).
Citizens, along with investigative journalists, telling the truth about the administration are being threatened.
Christian white nationalist fascists are running government agencies.
History is being rewritten in real time.
Books are being banned.
Free speech is being suppressed.
Christian zealots are in charge of education.
Public land is being traded off to the highest bidder. (Why do you think gas prices are being kept artificially low?)
Presidential Pardons are being sold.
The elite are paying millions in tribute to their benefactor Trump.
MAGA millionaires in Congress along with administration officials are making money from insider trading.
The preceding isn’t even close to being a complete list when all the lesser legislative horrors are taken into account. And by that, I mean all the rule changes taking place that endanger America in every government agency that remains.
MAGA Republicans in Congress have gone along with Trump every step of the way. The ease with which so many lie, cheat, and steal from America is astounding. Dictators always have their loyalists.
MAGAts will complain about how bad things are for them and acknowledge that Trump is the one responsible BUT they still support him for the simplest of reasons. Racism defines a huge portion of MAGAts. Greed for the oligarchs. Nazi Christians for access to the reins and power of government to advance their misogyny and patriarchy. They are diverting funds to go to religious indoctrination for children.
And let’s not forget that Trump is Putin’s man in the White House. Putin gets the red-carpet treatment. No one from our government met Ukrainian hero Zelensky when he arrived in the US. Meanwhile Trump continues to be Putin’s boy and threatens NATO, Greenland, Mexico, and Canada.
And now Trump has our military commit more war crimes against Venezuela by invading their country. Then there are strikes taking place in Nigeria against an ISIS threat that Nigerians claim isn’t there. And Trump is threatening Mexico with military action.
More than enough evil to go around.

What the MAGA white supremacist fascists learned from their failed January 6th coup is that they needed better plans. They learned from that lesson and planned better, much better, this time around. They were prepared when Trump took office and had a stream of Executive Orders ready to go. Trump has signed 225 Executive orders in his first year.[1] That’s more than Presidents Bush, Obama, and Biden combined signed in their first year. (Biden’s total for 4 years was 162.)
Presidents know that their EOs can be overturned. The main difference for Trump and MAGA Republicans is that they don’t care if his EOs are ruled illegal. They’re counting on court delays as they have gone ahead with dismantling what used to be our government. By the time the ruling comes the harm is already done.
At any point in all this MAGA Republicans had the power to stop what’s taken place. They still do. A few MAGAt leaders decry in public what is taking place but they’re the ones that voted for what’s happening. Even the MAGAts leaving office still support their ruler.
It was a real surprise to me that so many have willingly and openly supported America’s slide into fascism. Were you surprised that so many in America are willing to go fascist? Is it surprising to you that so many people of color support Trump’s racism? It was and is to me.
Our system of government wasn’t designed to survive so many MAGAt elected officials and citizens supporting overthrowing our democracy. It happened once before.
The result was Civil War.
